Being Sudhir Sharma

Sudhir Sharma is one of the most famous and well known designers in India. You can see many things in streets of India which are designed by him from buildings to brands. He was the first person I told about this designer on the road project. It was an usual office day in Istanbul and I just wrote about this idea in one of my e-mails. He replied with awesome feedbacks and superb ideas. Even I didnt believe in this project before talking with him. We met before in Istanbul but our times in Pune was absolutely mind blowing. I learned many things from him. Not about only design but also about being a good designer and human being. He is just unbelieveable good. I cant imagine a person who hates Sudhir. He is always a great boss and a great friend. Usually people respect their bosses just because of they are the boss. But in Indi everybody love and respect him. Everyone has very good stories with him about how good he is. I just dont know how he can keep this all the time. Because its a known fact that some people use your good behaviours for bad. And it can be risky for a boss to be very friendly with all the team. But in such a relax environment somehow all team members works on projects with maximum power. He is a man with completly 0 ego. When I told this to him, he said me that; there can not be a good designer with ego issues. Every designer should kill it. It is true. Otherwise you create something and love it. You dont let people to chance it or give you ideas to make it better? Why? Let it be better. Only that way we can be better designers. I also recognized that Indian people are generally have no ego issues. I think it is because of how they grow. This is a usual disipline in India. They touch mother in laws foot for showing respect. They touch the floor while entering a temple to show that they come with no ego and I think it reflects to daily life. If you just put indian traffic to Turkey, population will fall because of people kill each other in 2 days. Sudhir sometimes accepts clients or projects with no money but he never accepts projects with short deadlines even it promises huge amount of money. At once he said me that after rejecting a project: It is possible to finish the project in that deadline, but it means my people will work till nights and feel stressfull. I dont want this. Never. Good design never comes in rush It was very interesting to hear this from a boss. I really admire him in many different cases. Thank you Sudhir for inspiring me about everything. Sadece tasar覺m deil ayn覺 zamanda iyi bir tasar覺mc覺 ve insan olmakla ilgili de. Sudhir’i sevmeyen biri olabilir mi hayal edemiyorum. Bu adam inan覺lmaz iyi, hem bir patron hem de bir arkada olarak. Insanlar覺n genelde patronlar覺na patron olduklar覺 i癟in sayg覺 g繹sterdikleri bir d羹nyada herkes ve her 癟al覺an ona b羹y羹k sayg覺 duyuyor. Insanlar genelde bu t羹r eyleri suistimal etmek konusunda 癟ok baar覺l覺d覺rlar ama kimsenin b繹yle bir ey yapt覺覺n覺 da g繹rmedim. O tamamen egosuz bir insan. Bunu ona anlatt覺覺m zaman bana egosu olan insandan iyi tasar覺mc覺 olmaz dedi. C羹nk羹 bir ey yapars覺n覺z ve ona kimsenin dokunmas覺na izin vermez hatalar覺n覺 kabullenmez ve iin gelimesini 繹nlersiniz. Bu 癟ok doru. Asl覺nda genel olarak hintli insanlar覺n yetitirilmesinden kaynakl覺 olarak bat覺l覺 insanlardan daha egosuz olduklar覺n覺 kefettim. Sayg覺 g繹stergesi olarak kay覺nvalidenin aya覺na dokunmak, her tap覺nag覺n giriinde i癟eri girmeden 繹nce yere dokunmak gibi ben egomu silerek kar覺na geldim anlam覺na gelen gelenekleri var. Bu g羹nl羹k yaama da yans覺yor. Sadece Hindistan’daki trafii T羹rkiye’ye getirseniz 2 g羹nde herkes birbirini 繹ld羹r羹r mesela. Sudhir bazen paras覺z projeleri bile kabul ederken tonla para kazand覺rabilecek ama inand覺r覺c覺 olmayan teslim tarihli projeleri hemen reddediyor. Bir projeyi geri 癟evirdikten hemen sonra bana bununla ilgili 繹yle demiti: “Projeyi o tarihe yetitirmek asl覺nda m羹mk羹n ama bu, ajans覺n ge癟 saatlere kadar 癟al覺mas覺, 癟al覺anlar覺m覺n stres alt覺nda olmas覺 demek. Ben bunu hi癟 bir zaman istemiyorum. Iyi tasar覺m yetitirilme durumunda olamaz.” Bir patrondan b繹yle s繹zler duymak beni etkilemiti a癟覺kcas覺. T羹m bunlar d覺覺nda ondan her konuda ilham ald覺m.
